In order to set up the story of my week in Mexico, I should tell you a bit about the week before. Really I can sum it up in one word: anxious. I was nervous about going on a mission trip to a place where I couldn't even speak the language. I was plagued by doubts, and even thought about not going a couple of times. Not exactly a good week to have before a mission trip, I know. I thank God that he allowed me to go on the trip and that he gave me the courage to begin with. My attitude changed as soon as I stepped off the plane in San Diego. I was ready for and excited about the possibilities that lied ahead and I couldn't wait to cross the border.
After a few quick eats and a trip to Walmart (go figure), we were crossing over to the place where water is questionable and tacos flow in abundance! To keep things short, the people were awesome, the kids were adorable, and we got the tar kicked out of us in soccer. The point of all this is that God worked more on my heart than He did through me for anyone in Mexico. I came into Mexico feeling (and acting) like a lukewarm, surface only christian. I left Mexico with a new dedication to a deeper relationship with Christ. I am most assuredly looking forward to going back!
